Very sad to learn of this today. Lemmy was probably my first real exposure to the heavier side of metal. Yeah back in 83 I listened to stuff like Iron Maiden and Priest but Motörhead brought that to the next level for me. I was (and still am) a diehard Fastway fan at the time. Was hooked on Fast Eddie Clarke's playing. It was during that time I learned of Fast Eddie's previous band Motörhead. I hadn't heard anything from them at the time but I had to hear what they sounded like. I remember saving money from different yard work and grass cutting jobs and when I had enough money I went to the record store by my house and picked up No Sleep Till Hammersmith. I remember hearing that opening bass line from Ace Of Spades for the first time and then Lemmy's trademark vocals kicked in. It was a total game changer for me. Even my brother who was not into metal at the time was into it! Motörhead is a band I'll never grow tired of. Lemmy was always a fighter even in the last year or so as he battled health problems. Earlier this year we lost Philthy Animal Taylor and now Lemmy. He will be missed.
